5 Tips to Land a Brand Partnership

Let's talk about landing a brand partnership. You have established that you want to use your platform to influence and are honing in on your audience and consistently posting on-brand content. However, you might be unsure where to start when it comes to landing a brand partnership, below are 5 tips to help get you started!

Here is what we have learned in landing brand partnerships...

Mindset is Everything

It can be really easy to get in your own head with every reason you can’t pitch yourself to brands, but the truth is you can. Just remember, YOU can bring value to the table and authentically share yourself because when it comes to brands, they are looking for a genuine connection with someone to share their product or service. Most importantly don’t let the opinion of others stop you from showing up for yourself and the brand!

Find the Right Brands to Work With

Finding the right brands to work with shouldn't be a daunting task, if it is, you might be going after the wrong brands. And if you are just starting to think about pitching brands and you don’t have a niche yet, then that might be where you want to start. Don’t be afraid to start posting and tagging products that you use on a regular basis. Then, you will start to figure out what you like, don’t like, and what your audience is resonating with. Then you can use those posts as examples when you do start reaching out to brands.

Create the Perfect Pitch

The perfect pitch is the determination of a brand potentially working with you, meaning it could be the thing that moves you forward or the thing that takes you out of the running. Remember, some of these brands get requests just like yours every day, so how will you stand out? Our recommendation is to keep it short & sweet, your pitch should not exceed a single page and should highlight all of the key points that you bring to the table. Have a Clear Idea of the Value you Bring to the Table

When you take the time to have a clear idea of the value you bring to the table you can convey it to brands more successfully. It gives you an upper hand in negotiations and communications as a whole because you know exactly what you have to offer it and what it is worth! Do some brainstorming to see what areas you really want to highlight and which areas you might need to work on in order to really “wow” a brand.

Don’t be Afraid to Start Small

We definitely recommend testing the waters with some small brands first. Think of it as building your brand partnership resume. Once you’ve had some successful partnerships, then you have something tangible to show larger brands. Plus you’ll work out most of the kinks in your brand partnership workflow. Trust us you are going to get no’s, so don’t get discouraged and keep at it!
