Currently Coveting: Lone River Ranch-Ritas

Tara’s currently coveting this week is Lone River Ranch-Ritas, which she describes as a lighter, fresher tasting margarita. She was pretty excited when she was able to head home with the extras left over from the Elevate Summit last week. Huge shoutout to Lone River Beverage company for giving us some gift boxes to give to the ladies who came out. In addition, we were able to sit down with Katy Beal Brown, Founder of Lone River Beverage Company at the Summit, which was a game-changer for everyone there. If you are looking to try any of Ranch Water’s beverages, make sure to check out their website and find out where you can find them near you!

Industry News: Fast Food Goes Vegan

In this Candid Conversation about industry news, Natalie and Tara bring up the trending topic of meat-based menu items in fast food chains. Most recently, Taco Bells announced that they would be testing a new cheesy plant-based taco, which if you think about it, sounds a little counter-intuitive. Natalie makes sure to stress that this conversation is not about bringing down plant-based diets, but more so around the narrative that plant-based meat is pushing about healthy diets and climate change. If you hear an advertisement claiming that plant-based meat is better for the planet, just keep in mind that we can’t eat our way to climate change. It’s interesting that Taco Bell is testing a new plant-based menu item even though several other food chains such as Burger King and McDonald’s brought on those kinds of items and dropped them within the year. For the full details on this episode make sure to give it listen and let us know what you think!
