Meat the Moment: Courtney Cox’s Steak Recipe on Instagram

This week’s Meat is the Moment is brought to you by Courtney Cox and her steak recipe that she posted on Instagram. Tara loved the fact that she shared such a well-rounded recipe with steak with her audience. Natalie mentioned that one of her favorite things to do when a celebrity posts something ag-related is head straight to the comments. And the comments on that posts didn’t disappoint, there were definitely some haters in the comments, but it’s still great to see celebrities sharing a wholesome recipe with meat in the spotlight. You can catch this recipe over on our Discover Ag Instagram!

FTX founder and CEO Sam Bankman-Fried Attempts to get out of Jail by Blaming Vegan Diet | Read the Story Here

Cryptocurrency businessman, Sam Bankman-Fried was arrested in the Bahamas after being charged with wire fraud, wire fraud conspiracy, and conspiracy to commit money laundering after his cryptocurrency business imploded. That isn’t the reason why we are sharing this article though. After the arrest, Sam’s lawyer was trying to get the businessman out of jail by claiming he needed certain medications surrounding his vegan diet. The whole story is very “2022” according to Nat and Tara as they dissect the story and details of this article. At the end of the day, their opinion stands that they support anyone’s decision to be vegan BUT it shouldn’t be used to get people out of jail.

Cows Fueling Amazon Deliveries in Ohio | Read the Story Here

While this isn’t a super new story, we thought it deserved some attention because Amazon is using cows to fuel an entire fleet of delivery trucks in central Ohio. This is the very “first renewable natural gas fueling station for Amazon that’s been built from the ground up” according to the article. In today's episode, Tara is excited to give her feedback on how digesters are used in this instance to capture methane and then transform the gas into RNG (renewable natural gas) which is then used for fuel. In fact, all of Los Angele’s transit buses run on RNG, and over 800 buses in New York City are also running on RNG. It’s definitely great to see a use for cow manure in addition to cleaning up the footprint of transportation. Tune into the full episode today to hear Nat and Tara’s full thoughts on this story.

Coffee to Become Scarce in Coming Years | Read the Story Here

A former White House Chef is claiming that coffee is one thing among many that are on the downward trend of being available in the coming years. He made this claim based on a recent study done saying that coffee was one of the most vulnerable crops to increasing global temperatures. The article notes that there will most likely need to be changes made in major coffee-producing countries in South America that are most affected by climate change. Nat and Tara dive deep into the details of where there might be the most loss and what that means for the future of coffee.

To wrap up today’s episode, Nat and Tara cover their last segment, and this week they are sharing some classic Christmas Comebacks that you can share with new vegans and climatarians over Christmas this year. There are some super fun comebacks you can use at Christmas dinner so make sure to tune in and let us know what you think! Have something to add to the conversation?
