  • A candid conversation about the global anti-meat narrative

  • Community Recipe: Zesty Potato Salad

Farm and Ranch Updates

Tara is enjoying a little bit of downtime while she gears up for the fall. Natalie chats about her experience at the local county fair and how each of her boys is going through the motions of being in the ag fair.

Currently Coveting: Modere Collagen

Let’s chat about collagen! Tara has been loving taking her daily collagen and it’s one of her most responded to stories on her Instagram. In this light-hearted conversation, Natalie and Tara go back and forth on the benefits of collagen. Natalie has had an on-and-off relationship with Modere Collagen and gave a bottle to Tara so they could try it out together. In case you didn’t know, collagen is a product of beef, which is one of the big reasons that they are excited to try this product. Stay tuned to see what they think and you can get your own bottle here.

Industry News: Global Anti-Meat Narrative

Tara leads the candid conversation today about the global anti-meat agenda. In this discussion, she starts by giving the stats on Ireland’s agriculture emission reduction goals. Unfortunately, in order to hit the goals of emission reduction, the agriculture industry would take a huge hit even those the countries in question have one of the highest ag exports in the world. One of the largest points in this conversation is that Ireland is discussing culling 1.3 million cattle in order to hit the greenhouse emission quota. Similarly, in New Zealand, there will potentially be new taxes on farms that produce greenhouse gases. Nothing has been done like this before, so Tara is curious to see how it plays out.

To wrap up the conversation, Natalie and Tara talk about how elitist it is to manipulate the narrative around the meat industry. At the end of the day, a properly balanced diet can really benefit from meat whether it’s grain-fed or grass-fed. All meat serves a purpose and it’s important that industry producers come together to support overall meat production rather than segregating different sectors of it.
